LIFT – not just about primary care
LIFT is not just about GP and primary care services reprovision but about the overall regeneration and improvement of the County's health and social care and support services infrastructure.
As signatories to the Strategic Partnering Agreement which governs LIFT, Oldham County Council, the District Councils as well as Royal Oldham Hospitals Trust and Oldham Partnership NHS Trust can use LIFT as a procurement delivery vehicle for a wide range of community based facilities or associated infrastructure.
For example, Community 1st Oldham is working with Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council on developing a state of the art Health and Wellbeing Centre in Chadderton. This development will include a new swimming pool, leisure and fitness (gym) suite, library, café and community police support officer base.
This is the first LIFT project to be developed between Community 1st Oldham and the Local Authority and demonstrates the breadth of activities LIFT can participate in and successfully deliver.
